Calls have no sound or the mic is not working (web app)
Fixing microphone and audio problems when calling from the browser.
LimePhone calls run in your browser or the mobile app, so most "nobody can hear me" problems are microphone permissions:
- Browser permission: when the browser asks to use your microphone, choose Allow. If you dismissed it, click the padlock/settings icon in the address bar, set Microphone to Allow for the LimePhone dashboard, and reload the page.
- System permission: on Windows and macOS, the operating system separately controls which apps and browsers may use the mic (Settings > Privacy > Microphone). Make sure your browser is allowed.
- Right device: if you use a headset, check the browser's site settings point at it, not a disconnected device.
- One tab at a time: another tab or app holding the microphone (a meeting tool, for instance) can block it. Close it and retry.
- Still silent: try an incognito/private window (rules out extensions) or another browser.
On mobile, the equivalent is the app's microphone permission in your phone's settings. For choppy or robotic audio rather than silence, see "I'm experiencing poor call quality. What can I do?".
