Not getting notified about calls and messages?

What to check when incoming calls or texts stop producing alerts.

Updated

If calls and texts are arriving but you are not being told about them:

  1. LimePhone notification settings: check what you have enabled per event — see "Set your notifications" for where these live.
  2. Browser notifications (web app): the browser must be allowed to notify — click the padlock in the address bar and allow Notifications; the operating system's focus/do-not-disturb mode can still suppress them.
  3. Mobile app: confirm notifications are allowed for the app in your phone settings, and that battery-saver mode is not putting the app to sleep in the background (a common cause on Android).
  4. Business hours and routing: outside your configured hours, calls may go straight to voicemail by design — that is routing, not a broken notification. Check your business-hours schedule.
  5. Alert channels: missed-call alerts can also reach you by text, email or Slack — a second channel is good insurance if one device is unreliable. See "Missed-call recovery: alerts and automatic text-back".

If notifications work on one device but not another, the difference is almost always that device's own permission or battery settings.
