Choosing the number your calls show: outbound caller ID
Pick which of your numbers customers see when you dial out, and what Business caller ID adds.
When you own more than one LimePhone number, you choose which one shows on outbound calls — dial from your local sales number for one market and your toll-free line for support, from the same apps. See "How to change your caller ID" for the steps.
Two things worth knowing:
- Always dial out from a number you own in LimePhone. Showing your real, callable business number means customers can ring straight back, and consistent use keeps the number's reputation healthy with carriers.
- Business caller ID is a Business-plan feature that gives customer-facing teams advanced control over the identity presented on outbound calls. If your team needs it, it comes with the Business tier alongside SSO and audit logs.
If customers report your calls showing as "Unknown" for a specific destination, contact support with the number and destination — display behaviour can differ per receiving carrier.
